O‘zbekiston — MTRK’s flagship channel
O‘zbekiston is the country’s first state channel and the flagship of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan. It went on air on 5 November 1956 and was called UzTV-1 until 2004. It is a general-interest channel airing the country’s main news, public affairs talk shows, documentary and cultural programs, feature films and concerts.
Programs include Axborot, Assalom, O‘zbekiston! and Oydin hayot: the country’s main news program, a morning show and programs about public life. Airtimes for specific episodes are listed in the TV guide. • The country’s main news: news bulletins watched across the whole republic. • General interest: news, talk shows, documentaries, culture and concerts on one channel. • Two languages: most programs are in Uzbek, with some in Russian.
